Office for Mac that comes with an Office 365 subscription is updated on a regular basis to provide new features, security updates, and non-security updates. The following information is primarily intended for IT professionals that are deploying Office for Mac to the users in their organizations.
Note
Disk Image Files are only meant to be used in Mac based systems and not on the Windows operating systems. However, using some image softwares like Daemon tools on windows, we can mount disk images of DMG type on windows too. DMG files are used for installing tools and softwares into the Mac OS operating system. The file is downloaded from the internet from the software manufacturer’s website and upon mounting the DMG file, a virtual disk is generated from where the user can either copy the application to the applications folder or run an installation script depending on the type of installation.The newer disk image file was used in place of the original IMG or image file which was used in earlier versions of mac that are classic mac operating systems. https://newleague327.weebly.com/blog/how-to-convert-iso-file-to-dmg-in-windows. The DMG File format contains data in the form of blocks which are often secured using encryption methods or are compressed using compression algorithms.
- Starting with Version 16.21, Microsoft Teams will be installed by default for new installations if you're using the Office suite install package. For more information, see Microsoft Teams installations on a Mac.
- For security reason, Microsoft has deprecated the use of SHA-1. Learn more
- Starting with the 16.17 release in September 2018, this information also applies to Office 2019 for Mac, which is a version of Office for Mac that’s available as a one-time purchase from a retail store or through a volume licensing agreement.
- The update history information for version 16.16 and earlier also applies to Office 2016 for Mac, which is also a version of Office for Mac that’s available as a one-time purchase. Older versions up to and including 16.16 can be activated with an Office 2016 for Mac volume license. You can’t activate version 16.17 or later with an Office 2016 for Mac volume license. Most current packages for Office for Mac
- To get there, use the keyboard shortcut Shift+F3 to bring up the Insert Function dialog box, under Select a function: find and select the TEXT Function and click OK. On the Function Arguments dialog box, click the link: Help on this function.
- To enter a formula as an array formula in Excel, press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER. Example 3: Counting the Number of Occurrences of a Character in a Range Use the same data from the preceding example; assuming you want to count the number of occurrences or the character 'p' in A2:A7.

I've imported some data into Excel (from a text file) and it contains some sort of newline characters. It looks like this initially:
If I hit F2 (to edit) then Enter (to save changes) on each of the cells with a newline (without actually editing anything), Excel automatically changes the layout to look like this:

I don't want these newlines characters here, as it messes up data processing further down the track. How can I do a search for these to detect more of them? The usual search function doesn't accept an enter character as a search character.

In Excel the standard line break Alt + Enter character is ASCII 10. From the look of your screenshot it appears there is another character, probably ASCII 13.
To find these, in the standard Find (or Replace) dialog, in the Find What field, use the standard method of entering ASCII character codes: hold down Alt and type (on the numeric keypad) the character code, i.e., Alt 0010 for just the line break, or Alt 0013 (release Alt and press again) Alt 0010

If that extra character is not a ASCII 13, you can use the function =Code(AString) to get the code of the left most character of a string.
If you press Ctrl + J while in the Find dialog, you will be able to search for those characters.
